How Can We Elect A Socialist?

I ask myself this question everyday. I honestly can’t believe that we Americans have come to the point where we will possibly elect a Socialist as President of the United States. It’s hard for me to fathom that Barack Obama has gotten as far as he has. He should have been out on his ear months ago.

Has this subset of America, that will supposedly vote for him next week, lost all capacity to think, to discern the truth, to understand and remember history? Do they not know history? Do they not understand what a Socialist or what Socialism is? Do they not realize how it has left a trail of devastation? Do they not remember its Marxist origins? Do they not remember the tyranny that it led to (Hitler, Lenin, Stalin, Pol Pot)? Since most people seem to recoil when you mention Hitler’s name you should read the article “Hitler Was a Socialist” at freerepublic.com. The article sounds strangely familiar. Have they become so comfortable with giving their freedoms over to the government just because the government is going to provide free things for us and of course make life easier. Don’t they remember that there’s nothing free in this life? That everything comes with a price?

When I heard this audio of Barack Obama’s interview from back in 2001, chills ran up and down my spine. It didn’t surprise me at all though. It just confirmed what I’ve thought about him all along. He is a Socialist, a Marxist, and let’s go ahead and say it, a Communist. Come on people, don’t deny it. Haven’t you all heard the saying “if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, that it must be a duck”. To deny it is to deny the obvious and lie to yourself. Please listen to the audio ot the interview very carefully. Don’t you hear it? Don’t you hear the Socialist philosophy pouring from his mouth?

When he talks about “Redistributive Change”, what is he talking about? Isn’t he saying that “change” needs to be brought about by redistribution of wealth? When he talks about “Economic Justice”, what does he mean? Doesn’t he mean that everyone, whether they contribute or not, needs to get a piece of the pie? Isn’t that Socialism? So, that statement implies that he believes there is “Economic Injustice”. In our country, I don’t see how there is “Economic Injustice”, when by nature, Capitalism and the free market rewards those that are willing to work. We are rewarded (or paid) for the work we do. If we don’t feel that we are paid enough, we try to get a different job, or improve our skills to enable us to get a better job. If we don’t work, then we don’t get paid. In that case, we’re not contributing to anything. What’s unjust about that? Nothing! Another thing about these statements about “Economic Injustice”, I think that it is a slap in the face of every American that works hard to make a living and then in turn, FREELY, of their own will, does have compassion for their fellow man and gives to charities of their choice or their church, which in turn does things for the community. The key to that is it is done FREELY.

Also, Barack Obama, makes a vailed attack on the Constitution. He says that the Warren Court “didn’t break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution”. It sounds like his opinion is that the court should have broken free from the Constitution on this. But, isn’t the court suppose to work within the limits of the Constitution? Wouldn’t that be a total disregarding of what the Constitution said? Then he goes on to state that the “Constitution is a charter of negative liberties, says what the states can’t do to you, says what the federal government can’t do to you, but it doesn’t say what the federal government or the state government MUST DO on your behalf”. What kind of nonsense is that? Unless, I’m reading a different Constitution, I see plenty of POSITIVE liberties. The “Bill of Rights” lays that out pretty clearly. Also notice, and I think this is very key, he says “MUST DO”, not “could do”, “can do”, “might do”, but “MUST DO”. Well, it does. The Constitution talks about the government providing for the defense of this nation and many other things that the government is to do. But, in the wisdom of our Founding Fathers, the role of the government was limited. Keep in mind that these men had see all kinds of governments before and they understood from history the kind of government that needed to be established here. Barack’s problem with our Constitution is that it doesn’t have the “MUST DO” that he wants and that’s to redistribute wealth (Socialism). So, does he see this as a fatal flaw in the Constitution? How on earth, if he becomes President, will he be able to swear an oath to uphold the Constitution?

Next you have to listen to what he says about “the political and community organizing and activities on the ground that are able to put together the actual coalitions of power through which you bring about redistributive change”. Does that not send chills down your spine? This guy seeks power. Power to make the changes that he sees fit. Keep in mind that redistribution is a way that government confiscates the wealth and then assumes more control or power.

Look, I ask you, please consider these things carefully. Please engage your mind and think about these things. I know that Barack Obama’s statements on the campaign trail sound so good and that he’s going to help so many people with what he has planned. And I know that it appeals to the big hearts that Americans have. But, we have to keep our emotions in check on this and think, and really look under the covers of what’s being said. Remember the words of Benjamin Franklin, when exiting Independence Hall at the Constitutional Covention. He was asked by a lady, “Well Doctor what have we got, a Republic or a Monarchy?” and his response was “A Republic, if you can keep it.”.

Well, everyone, can we keep it? Can we stand up for our great country and keep our Republic? I pray that we can.
